
Summer at Afterschool Village offers a unique, sustainability focused safe environment for children to explore new ideas while they engage in all the fun activities available to them. They will be assisted by a staff that is trained to interact with children holistically with a progressive focus on self-directed learning.
Spots are limited to 12 kids on the first come first serve basis
Registration starts May 15th. A Deposit of $250 is included in tuition.

Sustainability based requirements
NO new plastic bottles, bags, single use utensils, saran wrap, rubber bands NO purchases of new items of any kind. REUSE lunch boxes, plastic containers, water bottles, markers, crayons, color pencils, single-side printed paper, clothing Metal, glass, bamboo, silicon products encouraged.
Attendance
We offer the following schedules: 2 Days (Tuesday and Thursday) , 3 Days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) and 4 Days (Monday to Thursday) from 9am to 3pm.
Programs
The daily program takes a progressive approach. Every day includes free play, group meeting, arts and crafts games and one of the following special classes: cooking, dance, composting, reducing waste, writing, and dungeons and dragons.

Classes
Cooking
In this class we will learn how to choose fresh, nutritious and wholesome ingredients and use them in recipes of different degrees of complexity. Through sharing the knowledge and the skills of preparing food, we learn physical skills, co-operation how to share love for food and each other.
Rhythm and Flow
Body movement exploration class.
Come explore different beats and rhythms, and what types of body movements we can create when we allow our bodies to connect with our own selves and with music.
Composting
Learn how to execute vermicomposting at home in this online course.
Vermicomposting is a great way for kids to:
●Incorporate science into an everyday activity.
●Teach kids how to be compassionate for other living forms.
●Teach them how to be responsible.
●Empower them to make a better planet.
Reduce Waste
Gain the knowledge and practical tools needed to start living a zero-waste lifestyle, and how to encourage kids to get involved.

●Reduce waste that ends up in landfills
●Adopt greener habits
●Care for the planet
