DAILY ROUTINE for Happy Planet Kids

9am - 9:20- Check in and free play

9:30 - 10am - Circle time - Show and tell, talk about your home life and our emotions, any news?  Present theme of the week.

This informs the child about the existence of inner dialogue and the meaning of it for emotional and mental health. It helps them feel heard and seen by the others in the circle (teachers and their peers) which is difficult as kids at these ages are very egocentric.

It also teaches children patience, taking turns and promotes communication skills and new vocabulary.

10:00 - 10:15 am - Snack

10:15 - 11 am - free play

During free play the students will practice sharing, peer communication and interactions, expressing their emotions, cause and effect, refine fine motor skills through manipulatives and have fun. Teachers will focus on bridging relating to others.

Stations:

  • Manipulatives (blocks, puzzles, legos, magnet tiles, etc)

  • Music and dress up - instruments and costumes available for them to play

  • Sensory station: Introducing different textures and smells
